Health benefits of Cabbage

Cabbage with respect to its structure is a combination of clusters of leaves, which are stiff and superimposed on each other in the layers of compact.  It is globular or round in shape, with wide varieties, which are, cultivated worldwide which includes purple, green, Savoy and red. Napa cabbage is another form of Chinese cabbage, which is of Brassica family. They grow to oblong shaped head, which consists of tightly arranged thick, crinkly and light green leaves.

In case you are breast-feeding your child, you are recommended not to have cabbage as a usual food.

There are few evidences where, nursing infants could develop colic if the mothers are eating cabbage.

When you are applying it to the breast for relieving swelling and pain, which occurs due to breast-feeding which seems to be quite safe when handled in several times in a day or two.

Further, there are some concerns, which reveal that it could make the condition worse.

It is best in such a scenario to avoid cabbage if you are suffering under active thyroid gland.

It contains ample amount of riffinose, an indigestible sugar.

The sugar is type of complex carbohydrates, which passes through your intestine, which is undigested. It could lead to flatulence.

There are other symptoms, which are associated with flatulence, which may result in belching, bloating and abdominal discomfort.

It is a plant which is commonly used and eaten as vegetables. People are using leaves for the medicinal purposes.
